I would have to agree with you Kristi that the “easy answer” about sizing up is not an easy one for most women...

But it is most likely the “right” way because whether we like it or not, bodies change. And I’m definitely not always liking that they do 🥴

Yes, I know there are people that have a problem about sizing up, but wearing clothes that fit well makes us feel good.

That is exactly it! I have sized up over the past couple of years and, at times I have heard that old internalised fat phobia voice pipe up... But being in my body always feels so much better when I am wearing clothes that fits my hear and now body well.

Comfort all the way!

It's so refreshing to hear that even experts like yourself still occasionally deal with fat phobia. I mean, I wish it wasn't true, but you being open to talking about it, which you've done numerous times here and on your own Substack, made me realize that it was still "normal" versus me just not doing diet recovery "right." Geez, all the ways we've got to recover from diet culture.

And I do agree and love the fact that we can agree to disagree and be respectful and loving.

I never believe the right way is dieting because I don’t think diets work. There is ample proof of this. They work in the short term but not the long term without behavioral modifications. To me the right way is be mindful of calories consumed and calories expended. Not obsessively but mindfully. Not daily but over time. I also don’t believe in good and bad foods. I lost 80lbs in what I call the Hamburger, Chicken Wing and French Fry “diet”. For me, it was about mindful consumption and balancing of calories consumed versus expended to achieve my objectives. That is the “right way” to me.

I have to ask: any bugs on the menu?!? I'm so intrigued!

Interesting. I didn’t know about the importance of edible insects in the Oaxacan culture. I didn’t do a full menu perusal after our server mentioned the chiles en nogada.

That sounds amazing, and I've never had it.

If you haven't seen "Somebody Feed Phil", you might really enjoy the show where he goes to central America and/or southern Mexico to experiment with this food. I've enjoyed the show mainly because of Phil's curiosity and personality (although Phil has a problematic relationship w/binging, part of the make-up of the show is him getting amped to gorge everywhere... but in spite of this, it may be worth checking out).
