Kristi, this hit me right in the part of my brain currently trying to negotiate “deserving to exist” with a lifetime of perfectionism, self-criticism, and emotional support cardigans. 😅
Seriously though, this was beautiful.
I think so many of us have spent years acting like we are one improved version of ourselves away from finally being allowed to fully participate in our own lives. Lose the weight. Fix the flaw. Heal completely. Become shinier. More productive. More lovable. Less “too much.”
Meanwhile life is literally happening in the next room eating chips without us.
What I love about this piece is that it gives people permission to stop waiting. Not because everything is perfect, but because we were never required to become perfect before inhabiting our lives in the first place.

This was honest, freeing, and deeply needed.
