Great post, Kristi! I love how you outlined the whole situation, and concrete steps for analyzing what was going on, once you have some distance from your immediate emotional reaction. This strikes me as something that could be useful in many situations in which self-judgement arises, not just limited to those related to food and eating.

Thank you so much for sharing that feedback. I am glad to hear that it could apply to multiple self-judging situations!

Well done! I'm a sucker for cheapo Halloween candy leftovers, and have been my whole life. It's just too easy to access this time of year, and... well, it's delicious and gross all at the same time that makes me feel like I'm doing something naughty, and so that sort of appeals to my inner kid a little.

What scary movie did you settle on?

I love that description...delicious and gross at the same time. It's the Halloween rite of passage to eat the candy you don't even like.

We watched Talk to Me. I bet you've already seen it. Everyone was completely split on whether they liked it. I felt like it dragged on forever, but it clocked in at an hour and a half.

Oh wow! I haven't yet seen Talk to Me. I will probably wait until it's free, though, so if I feel the same as you I won't feel cheated. I bet you still enjoyed hanging out with the family, even if what you were watching kind of sucked! That's one good thing about watching something together.
